Baja California

Pure fascination

Rugged mountains, yawning abysses, endless plains, lonely shores and mysterious islands – impressions from Baja California.

Although “God‘s finger in the Pacific” is only 25 to 150 miles (40 to 240 km) wide, its length of more than 800 miles (1,300 km) exceeds that of Italy. At an area of 55,400 sq miles (144,000 km²) (without islands), Baja has a respectable size. Inhospitable and unfriendly – that‘s the first impression of the peninsula, whose biotopes are inseparably linked to the alternation between the desert and the sea.
